Breakfast – The Highest Nutritional Grain

This morning I felt like a warm, nourishing & tasty breakfast.

I find quinoa so easy to digest even at breakfast, plus it has the highest nutritional profile of other grains. It cooks the fastest, strengthens kidneys, heart & lungs. It is high in B vitamins & contains all 8 essential amino acids hence it is a complete protein.


1/2 cup of quinoa (make sure you rinse it first)

1/2 cup frozen berries, 1/2 an apple,

tablespoon of sunflower seeds, teaspoon of cinnamon & dash of maple syrup.



Place all ingredients in a pot and cover with water, cook for 10 to 15 minutes, continuing to add enough water just to keep it covered.

Place onto a dish and add your favorite seeds. I have added grinded linseed and my home made granola, topped with natural yogurt. This slow releasing carbohydrate will sustain blood sugar levels right up until lunch time. Enjoy 🙂
