Our hip flexors are the engine through which our body moves.
Hipflexors control balance, our ability to sit, stand, twist, reach, bend, walk and step. Everything goes through the hips. When the hip flexors tighten it can lead to a host of problems even in seemingly healthy and active people. Tight or locked hips can contribute to the following problems;
- Nagging joint pain in the legs, lower back & hips
- walking with discomfort
- Bad posture
- Trouble sleeping
- Sluggishness in day to day life
- High anxiety
Many people suffer from tight or locked hips, especially those who sit at desks and driving cars each day, few people realise the negative impact this has on their whole body. Everything flows through the hips, they help support the strength and health of your entire body.
We store all our trauma, anxiety, stress and fears in our hips. Regular practice of yoga will help reduce pain, promote weight loss, enhance your strength training and increase energy. Remember your hips are the bridge between upper and lower body. They are the center of your body’s movement.
